Girdlers Award 2017

23rd May 2017

For the sixth year we were invited to nominate a young person to receive a Girdlers’ Medallion - presented each year by the Master of the Worshipful Company of Girdlers.

These Medallions are presented to individuals in recognition of their talents and endeavours.

This year’s worthy recipient was ex-Shipmate and current Senior Instructor & Tutor, Zak Riat - nominated for his long-term commitment to The AHOY Centre and voted 2015’s Youth Volunteer of The Year.

Zak was accompanied by his mother, Lois and AHOY’s Operations Manager Clair Ongley.
We are very grateful for The Worshipful Company of Girdlers’ long-term funding & support of our charity and it is an honour to see our young people receive this prestigious award.

Congratulations and well done Zak!

We have a group from Tideway here to do an afternoon of volunteering and helping with maintenance tasks followed by a fun session in our rowing gym
